- Hook Standard dry fly, straight eye, 10-12
- Thread Olive 8/0
Materials
- Superfine dubbing Green drake / olive (abdomen)
- Deer hair Natural dun deer hair (wing clump)
- Tying thread Olive thread (underbody)
How to tie it
- Start thread and dub a full, slightly tapered olive green-drake abdomen from the bend to the 65% mark.
- Stack a clump of deer hair and tie it in upright at the 65% mark, tips forward, banking turns against the front to post it.
- Fan the wing into a 180° comparadun across the top so the fly sits flush in the surface.
- Dub a sparse thorax and figure-8 it around the wing base to lock the wing upright.
- Form a small head, whip finish, and cement.
