Reference Recipe
- Hook 2XL nymph hook (e.g. TMC 5262), #10-14
- Thread olive 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Woolly bugger marabou Brown marabou (short tail)
- Woolly bugger marabou Olive marabou (body)
- Mono rib Clear (3-4X) mono (1 strand)
- Hard mono Clear (16 lb) (splayed eyes)
- SLF dubbing Damsel olive (head/thorax)
How to tie it
- Start the thread at the bend and tie in a sparse brown marabou tail about a half shank long, a short, wiggling damsel tail.
- Tie in a length of 3-4X mono for the rib.
- Wrap olive marabou forward as a slim, tapered body to the 75% mark.
- Counter-rib the mono forward in 5-6 turns to lock the soft body, then tie off.
- Tie a short length of 16 lb hard mono crosswise near the front as splayed damsel eyes, figure-8'd to set them.
- Dub an olive SLF head and thorax around and behind the eyes.
- Whip finish at the eye and cement.
