Reference Recipe

• Hook 2X-short wide-gap hook (e.g. TMC 2488), #18-26
• Thread to match (gray/camel/cream) 10/0 (fine)

Materials

• Para-post / poly White poly yarn (1 post)
• Thread or superfine dubbing Gray/camel/cream (body)
• Rooster hackle Grizzly or dun hackle (1 (parachute))

How to tie it

1. Start the thread and lay a slim base to the bend.
2. Tie in a white poly post upright at the 70% mark and post the base with tight thread turns for the parachute.
3. Build a slim, slightly tapered body of thread or fine dubbing forward to the post.
4. Tie in a hackle at the base of the post.
5. Dub a small thorax around the post.
6. Wind the hackle 4-5 turns down the post, parachute-style, and tie it off under the hackle.
7. Whip finish at the eye and add a pinhead of cement, taking care not to trap hackle fibers.
