Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry hook (e.g. TMC 100), #16-18
- Thread pale yellow 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Microfibbets Light dun hackle fibers or microfibbets (split tail)
- Superfine dubbing Pale yellow-olive (PMD) (body + thorax)
- Duck quill slips Light dun duck quill slips (2 matched (wings))
How to tie it
- Lay a thread base to the bend.
- Tie in a split tail of light dun fibers one shank long, splayed into a wide V.
- Dub a slim, tapered pale-yellow-olive PMD body to the 70% mark.
- Tie two matched light-dun duck-quill slips low on each side (sidewinder), curving apart and standing about one shank tall.
- Figure-8 dubbing at the wing bases to set and separate them.
- Dub a short thorax to the eye.
- Whip finish and cement.
