Reference Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gap stinger hook, 2-6
  • Thread White 70 denier

Materials

  • Bucktail White bucktail (1 clump for belly/tail)
  • Krystal Flash / Flashabou Pearl / holo (8-12 strands)
  • Marabou White + olive/chartreuse marabou (2 plumes for wing)
  • Estaz / Ice chenille Pearl white estaz ice chenille (collar and head)
  • 3-D adhesive eyes - (1 pair)
  • UV resin - (for head)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread and tie in a white bucktail belly clump at the mid-shank, then a good pinch of pearl flash over it.
  2. Wrap a pearl Estaz collar just ahead of the tie-in point.
  3. Tie in a white marabou plume on the bottom and a contrasting olive or chartreuse plume on top just in front of the Estaz for a soft, breathing wing, one and a half shank lengths long.
  4. Add a few strands of Flashabou over the top of the marabou.
  5. Wrap a second Estaz collar in front to form the head base and tie off.
  6. Whip finish, glue a 3-D eye to each side, coat with UV resin and cure.
