Reference Recipe

  • Hook Wide-gap stinger hook, 4-8
  • Thread White 70 denier

Materials

  • Bucktail White bucktail (1 sparse clump for tail)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (6-8 strands)
  • Flashabou Holographic silver flashabou (few strands)
  • Estaz / Ice chenille Pearl white estaz ice chenille (collar and head)
  • Synthetic hair (EP fiber) White + olive/chartreuse synthetic hair (small clumps for wing)
  • 3-D adhesive eyes - (1 pair, small)
  • UV resin - (for head)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread and tie in a sparse white bucktail tail at the mid-shank, one and a half shank lengths long, then a few strands of pearl Krystal Flash and holo Flashabou over it.
  2. Wrap a short collar of pearl Estaz just ahead of the tail.
  3. Tie in small clumps of white synthetic hair on the bottom and olive or chartreuse on top just ahead of the Estaz to build the baitfish profile, adding a few flash strands.
  4. Wrap a second Estaz collar in front to form the head base and tie off.
  5. Whip finish, then glue a small 3-D eye to each side of the Estaz head.
  6. Coat the head and eyes with UV resin and cure.
