Krystal Flash (wing) Pearlescent (A small bunch over the top)
How to tie it
Mount the salmon single and run a claret thread base from behind the eye back to a point above the barb.
Tie in small oval gold tinsel at the rear and take four or five touching turns to form a neat tag, then tie it off and trim.
Tie in a small bunch of golden pheasant tail tips as a tail directly over the tag, keeping it on top of the shank and about a hook gap long.
Catch in a second length of small oval gold tinsel at the base of the tail for the rib and bind the tag end forward.
Wrap claret floss forward over the rear half of the shank, going up and back for two smooth layers, and tie it off at the midpoint.
Rib the rear body with four or five evenly spaced open turns of the oval gold tinsel and tie the rib off at the midpoint.
Tie in the claret saddle hackle at the midpoint and take two or three turns as a middle joint hackle, stroking the barbs back before tying off and trimming the stem.
Build the front body with claret mohair, wrapped or dubbed forward to about two eye-lengths behind the eye, and pick it out slightly so it stays translucent.
Tie in the orange-dyed guinea by the tip, take two or three turns as a soft front hackle, stroke the barbs back and secure.
Lay a sparse bunch of pearlescent Krystal Flash along the top as a wing, trim it to just past the bend, build a neat claret head, whip finish and varnish.
