Start the thread and tie in a strand of pearl tinsel at the bend to hang for the rib.
Dub a slim hare's ear body forward, stopping at the 65% mark to leave room for the head.
Counter-wrap the pearl tinsel forward in four or five open turns as a rib, tie off and clip.
Tie in six to eight knotted pheasant tail fibers as trailing daddy-longlegs legs, splayed back and out around the body.
Cut, clean and stack a clump of deer hair; lay it across the shank at the front, take two soft turns and pull tight so it spins and flares into a collar.
Pack the deer hair back tight, whip finish at the eye and cement.
Trim the deer hair to a muddler head, flat underneath and rounded on top, leaving a few tips as a collar.
