Tungsten cone (large)
Lead wire (.025)
Extra-select marabou White marabou (tail)
Krystal Flash Gold or copper flash (4 strands)
Marabou quill Tan marabou (second tail)
EP Sparkle Brush 3in Pearl anti static bag strip (wing/topping)
EP Sparkle Brush 3in Copper thorax stripe (body)
How to tie it
Put a Gamakatsu B10S #2 in the vise and slide a large tungsten cone to the eye. Lay a base of.025 lead wire from above the hook point forward, break it off, and push it into the back of the cone to lock the cone in place.
Start red UTC 140 thread behind the cone and cover the shank.
Tie in a white extra-select marabou tail about two hook-shank lengths long; bind the butts forward to where the lead ends and trim.
Tie in two strands of gold (or copper) Krystal Flash on the near side, fold two more over to the far side (four total), and trim roughly to tail length.
Lay a tan marabou quill on top as a second tail the same length; bind and trim the butt at the lead.
Tie in a 3in pearl EP Sparkle Brush at the rear on the underside of the shank and leave it hanging (it becomes the top wing later).
Tie in a second 3in EP Sparkle Brush (copper) for the body at the same point; wrap it forward in tight, touching turns to just behind the cone, stroking the fibers rearward on each wrap; helicopter the wire core to break it off.
Brush the body fibers back, pull the reserved pearl brush forward over the top as a wing, and tie it off behind the cone.
Whip finish behind the cone and seal the thread head.
