How to tie it
Clamp a sewing needle in the vise, start the cinnamon Veevus thread near the tip, and wrap an open-spiral base up the needle to the full body length you want.
Tie half a strand of brown yarn along the full thread base (the fly is built on the yarn, not the needle, so it will slide off later), leaving a tag hanging off the back.
Tie in a 2 mm-wide strip of 3 mm cinnamon foam at the rear, then tie in a 2" piece of 12 lb mono folded and caught down as a loop projecting off the front; anchor everything and coat the underbody thinly with super glue.
Wrap the foam strip forward under tension in closely overlapping turns, spreading the turns near the front so the body carries a reverse taper (fatter at the back); tie off, trim, hand-whip finish, and unscrew the finished extended body off the needle.
Put a TMC 2487 size 12 in the vise, start the Nano Silk behind the eye, lay a base back to the hook point, and build a small thread bump right behind the eye to prop the wing.
Cut, clean, and stack a generous clump of bleached moose body hair; measure it the length of the extended body and tie it in with the tips facing forward out over the eye, flaring it against the thread bump, then trim the butts at an angle and bind them smooth.
Bring the thread back to above the barb, lay the body's mono loop on top of the shank, bind it down leaving a gap between hook and body, fold the mono back and catch it again, then trim the excess.
Tie in a strand of small amber Barred Sexi-Floss just ahead of the body, half swept back along the far side and half along the near side, so the legs dangle rearward.
Fold the forward-facing moose hair back over the body bullet-head style, secure it with a tight thread collar to form the head and rearward wing, whip finish, and cement.
