How to tie it
Slide the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook and lock it with a thread base, then build a slightly bumpy thread base for grip.
Trim and singe one end of the mop chenille so it won't fray, then tie the mop in two hook-shank lengths back with four or five firm wraps, wiggling the thread through the fibers; add superglue.
Wrap the same mop strand forward as the body up to behind the bead and tie it off, so tail and body are one piece.
Tie in a healthy clump of red ice dub on the underside (the fly rides hook-point-up, so this becomes the throat/gills), fold it over, tie down, and taper it to a small red highlight.
Prepare a webby soft-hackle feather, tie it in by the tip, and wrap it forward as a full collar, sweeping the fibers back with each turn.
Tie off the hackle, trim the stem, build a small thread head, and whip finish.
