Classic Recipe

• Hook Scud/curved, 10-14
• Thread Cream or chartreuse 6/0

Materials

• Body Mop chenille (microfiber) (1 strand)
• Bead Tungsten bead (1)

How to tie it

1. Slide a tungsten bead onto the hook.
2. Cut a single finger from a microfiber mop or dusting glove.
3. Tie it in at the bend so the mop finger extends back past the bend like a fat, fuzzy grub.
4. Cover the tie-down wraps with a few turns of thread or a pinch of dubbing behind the bead.
5. Whip finish. That's the whole fly, don't overthink it.

• Body instead of Mop chenille (microfiber): Cream mop chenille — Standard caddis larva color; Chartreuse mop chenille — Bright attractor, very visible; Tan mop chenille — More natural; Pink mop chenille — Worm/egg crossover color; Olive mop chenille — Caddis/crane fly larva color; White mop chenille — Clean, visible in dark water
• Bead instead of Tungsten: Fl. chartreuse tungsten — Adds hotspot; Black nickel tungsten — Subtler look; No bead. Just lead wraps — Slimmer profile
