How to tie it
Slide the gold bead to the eye, add a few wraps of lead-free wire behind it if desired, and start the thread.
Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend splayed into a short V-shaped tail, about half a shank long.
Tie in the gold wire and 3-4 peacock herls, twist the herl into a rope, and wrap forward to just behind the bead; tie off. Counter-rib with the gold wire in 4-5 open turns for durability and helicopter it off.
Tie in a brown hackle and take 2-3 soft wet-fly wraps, then sweep the fibers back and down.
Lash a pair of white round rubber legs along each side, splayed out. This rubber-leg addition is what sets the Montana Prince apart from the standard Prince.
Set two white goose biots flat over the top in a V as wings, tips reaching to the hook point, and lock them behind the bead.
Whip finish behind the bead, snip, and add a drop of cement.
