  • Tail Black hackle fibers or biots (short)
  • Abdomen Black chenille (full)
  • Thorax Yellow chenille (full)
  • Wingcase Black chenille (strands over)
  • Hackle Black, palmered through thorax (1 feather)

How to tie it

  1. Tail, black abdomen
  2. Tie wingcase strands, yellow thorax with palmered hackle
  3. Pull black over thorax
  4. Whip finish

Substitutions

  • Body instead of Black chenille: Black Ice Chenille — Adds a little sparkle; Peacock chenille — Buggier attractor look
  • Thorax instead of Yellow chenille: Fluorescent yellow chenille — Hotter, more visible; Orange chenille — Alternate hot-spot color
