Reference Recipe
- Hook Short trout-spey shank with stinger trailer, Trailing hook size 6 on a 15-20mm shank
- Thread Brown 10/0
Materials
- Shank - (15-20mm)
- Trailing hook + wire loop - (size 6)
- Senyo's Laser Dub (butt) Sculpin olive (small pinch)
- Flashabou Copper flashabou (few strands)
- Ice Dub (collar/head) Olive brown ice dub (pinch)
- Small eyes Yellow mcflylon (1 pair (optional))
How to tie it
- Mount the short shank and rig the trailing hook on a tight doubled wire loop, lashed down so the hook rides just past the shank; cement the wraps.
- Tie in a small reversed clump of Senyo's Laser Dub at the rear and fold it back to form a compact tail/butt about one shank length long.
- Add a couple of copper Flashabou strands per side, sparse.
- Build a small dubbing loop or pinch of Ice Dub and wrap a brushed-out collar forward, sweeping fibers rearward.
- Optional: figure-8 tiny yellow eyes at the front and dub a small head over them.
- Whip finish at the shank front, snip, and cement.
