How to tie it
Wrap a thread base over the rear half of the shank.
Tie in four hackle tips at the bend, splayed two per side so they kick apart, with a couple strands of Krystal Flash; whip finish and cement.
Set the mono eyes across the shank near the bend with figure-eight wraps.
Mix epoxy and build the signature flat, triangular or diamond-shaped head over the front two-thirds of the shank, widest at the hook eye and tapering back. Rotate the hook until it gels so the head stays symmetrical and the fly falls level.
Embed the eye stems in the epoxy as you shape it; tint the epoxy or dust it with fine glitter if desired.
When cured, the hard flat head planes the fly down slowly and lands with a discreet tick. The reason guides throw it at spooky fish.
