Mount a size 6 3XL streamer hook, start black 140-denier thread and tie in the gold tinsel rib at the rear, then bring the thread back to the front.
Fold five strands of green Crystal Flash in half over the thread at the front and pinch-wrap them so you have ten strands; bind them back down the shank in loose open wraps to build a little body thickness. Leave them long for now.
Tie in black floss at the front, wrap it back to the rear and then forward again in flat, even turns to a couple of eye-lengths behind the eye, and tie it off. A little lumpiness will be hidden by the rib.
Wrap the gold tinsel forward as a rib, spaced as tight or open as you want the flash, tie it off, then fold it back over itself and take a few wraps to make sure it cannot slip.
Trim the green Crystal Flash tail to length, pulling out any strand that will not lie flat.
Stack a medium tuft of white bucktail (polar bear in the original), measure it back to about midway down the tail, cord the thread up and tie it in on top; a wrap or two up underneath the hair wedges it in place and keeps it from spinning.
Tie about eight strands of pearl Crystal Flash over the wing as a topping and trim the butts.
Tie in 15-20 long strands of red strung saddle hackle underneath as a throat with a pinch wrap, then trim the butts forward.
Build a smooth, tapered streamer head from the eye back, whip finish, and coat with head cement or UV resin.
