- Hook Up-eye salmon/wet fly hook, 4-8
- Thread Red 6/0
Materials
- Tag Silver metal tape (oval tinsel)
- Body Olive-green material (floss or silk)
- Rib Silver metal tape (oval tinsel)
- Wing Grey polar fibre (grey squirrel tail)
- Collar hackle Lemon yellow (1 hackle)
How to tie it
- Start thread and wrap a short oval silver tag at the rear.
- Tie in the silver rib, then build a smooth olive-green floss body forward to behind the eye.
- Spiral the silver rib forward in 5 even turns and tie off.
- Tie in a sparse grey squirrel tail wing over the body reaching to the bend.
- Wind a lemon yellow hackle as a front collar and sweep it back.
- Build a red thread head, whip finish, and cement.
