Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard nymph, 16-20
- Thread White 8/0
Materials
- Body White floss or thread (slim)
- Rib Fine copper wire (spiral)
- Head Black thread (small)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start white thread behind the eye.
- Tie in a length of fine copper wire at the bend to hang for the rib.
- Wrap a slim, smooth white floss or thread body forward, keeping it thin and even. This is a pale midge larva.
- Spiral the copper wire forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns to segment the body, then helicopter it off.
- Switch to black thread (or build a small black band) to form a tiny dark head.
- Whip finish and add a drop of cement.
