Miracle Nymph

Nymph · Trout · Intermediate · 1 version

Classic Recipe

  • Hook Standard nymph, 16-20
  • Thread White 8/0

Materials

  • Body White floss or thread (slim)
  • Rib Fine copper wire (spiral)
  • Head Black thread (small)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the hook and start white thread behind the eye.
  2. Tie in a length of fine copper wire at the bend to hang for the rib.
  3. Wrap a slim, smooth white floss or thread body forward, keeping it thin and even. This is a pale midge larva.
  4. Spiral the copper wire forward in 5-6 evenly spaced turns to segment the body, then helicopter it off.
  5. Switch to black thread (or build a small black band) to form a tiny dark head.
  6. Whip finish and add a drop of cement.
