Baitfish · Striped Bass · Bluefish · False Albacore · Jack · Tarpon · Snook · Redfish · Sea Trout · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook saltwater/streamer, standard shank, 1/0-4
  • Thread white 6/0 or GSP

Materials

  • Bucktail or synthetic fiber White bucktail (1 bunch)
  • Bucktail or synthetic fiber Olive bucktail (1 bunch)
  • Krystal Flash / flashabou Pearl flashabou (6-10 strands)
  • Stick-on eyes Silver d eyes mm (1 pair)
  • UV resin Clear uv resin (for head)

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread near the hook eye and tie in a bunch of white bucktail on the underside, one-and-a-half to two shank lengths long, for the belly.
  2. Add several strands of pearl flash over the white.
  3. Flip the hook or work on top and tie in a bunch of olive bucktail as the back, matching length, to give the baitfish an olive-over-white profile.
  4. Build a smooth thread head and whip finish.
  5. Set stick-on eyes on each side of the head and coat the head with UV resin to lock the eyes and form a durable minnow head.
