Reference Recipe

  • Hook streamer shank plus trailing hook, 2-6
  • Thread black 6/0 or GSP

Materials

  • Articulation wire or heavy mono Clear articulation wire or heavy mono (1 loop)
  • Dumbbell or bead eyes Lead-color (1 pair)
  • Rabbit strip (zonker) Black/olive cross cut rabbit (2 strips)
  • Cross-cut rabbit Black/olive cross cut rabbit (1 strip)
  • Flash Pearl flashabou (6-8 strands)

How to tie it

  1. On the rear hook tie in a rabbit-strip tail two shank lengths long with 6-8 strands of flash, then palmer a short cross-cut collar and whip off.
  2. Join the rear hook to the front shank with a doubled loop of heavy mono or wire, leaving a short hinge gap.
  3. Lock the loop to the front shank and figure-eight dumbbell eyes on top near the front to add weight and a jigging action.
  4. Tie a second rabbit strip over the top back to the rear collar.
  5. Palmer cross-cut rabbit forward around and behind the eyes to a full body, sweeping fur back each turn.
  6. Dub or wrap a small head in front of the eyes, whip finish, and cement.
