Reference Recipe

  • Hook streamer shank plus trailing hook, 4-8
  • Thread black 6/0

Materials

  • Articulation wire or heavy mono Clear articulation wire or heavy mono (1 loop)
  • Rabbit strip (zonker) Black/olive cross cut rabbit (2 strips)
  • Cross-cut rabbit Black/olive cross cut rabbit (1 strip)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands)
  • Bead chain or small eyes Silver bead chain eyes medium (1 pair (optional))

How to tie it

  1. On the rear hook, tie in a rabbit-strip tail one to two shank lengths long plus a few strands of flash, then palmer a short collar of cross-cut rabbit and whip off.
  2. Connect the rear hook to the front shank with a doubled loop of articulation wire or heavy mono, keeping the gap short so the two segments hinge but don't foul.
  3. On the front shank tie down the wire loop, then tie in a second rabbit strip over the top reaching back to the rear collar.
  4. Palmer cross-cut rabbit forward in touching turns to build a full body, stroking fibers back each turn.
  5. Optionally figure-eight small bead-chain eyes in front for a little weight and a jigging action.
  6. Build a neat head, whip finish, and cement.
