Materials

  • Marabou Black marabou (1 plume)
  • Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (2-4 strands)
  • Marabou or dubbing Black dubbing (for body)
  • Bead (optional) Black bead (1)

How to tie it

  1. If using a bead, slide it to the eye; start the thread and lay a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a slim marabou tail one full shank length, and flank it with 2-4 strands of pearl Krystal Flash the same length.
  3. Twist a length of marabou into a loose rope and wrap it forward as a soft, mobile body to just behind the bead or eye.
  4. Sweep the fibers back with each turn so they lie down and pulse, tie off, and trim.
  5. Build a small head, whip finish, and cement.
