Charlie's Fly Box dressing

  • Thread Black Veevus 14/0

Materials

  • Bead 3mm Black/Orange Crackle Slotted Tungsten Bead
  • Body Medium Black Holographic Tinsel
  • Tail Black Micro Pine Squirrel
  • Collar Black ostrich herl

How to tie it

  1. Slide the gold bead to the eye of the jig hook and start the thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a slim olive marabou tail one shank length and flank it with a few strands of olive Krystal Flash.
  3. Twist a slip of olive marabou into a rope and wrap it forward to the bead, stroking fibers back each turn for a soft, breathing body.
  4. Dub a short olive-brown Ice Dub collar behind the bead.
  5. Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
