Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Intermediate · 1 version

Reference Recipe

  • Hook jig hook, 60-degree, barbless, 12-14
  • Thread olive 8/0

Materials

  • Slotted tungsten bead Gold bead (1 (2.5-3.0mm))
  • Micro Pine Squirrel or marabou Olive marabou (1 strip/plume)
  • Krystal Flash Olive/pearl flash (2-4 strands)
  • Ice Dub Olive ice dub (pinch)

How to tie it

  1. Slide the gold slotted bead onto the jig hook to the eye and start the thread behind it.
  2. Tie in a slim olive squirrel or marabou tail one shank length, and add 2-4 strands of olive/pearl Krystal Flash flanking it.
  3. If using a squirrel strip, wrap it forward in touching turns to the bead; if marabou, twist into a rope and wrap. Stroke fibers back each turn so they sweep rearward.
  4. Dub a small collar of olive Ice Dub behind the bead to fill the gap and add sparkle.
  5. Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
