Hot spot thread or floss Fluorescent orange floss (few turns)
How to tie it
Slide the gold slotted bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
Tie in 5-6 Coq de Leon fibers for a short tail, half a shank long, splayed slightly for a crawler-nymph stance.
Bind in the copper wire and a small bunch of pheasant tail fibers by the tips at the tail base.
Wrap the pheasant tail forward as a slim body to just short of the bead, tie off, and counter-wrap the copper rib in 4-5 open turns for segmentation and grip.
Dub a small ball of peacock Ice Dub behind the bead for the thorax, keeping it tight and buggy.
Whip a band of fluorescent orange right behind the bead as the hot collar, then whip finish and touch with cement.
