Wrap the thread forward, quartering the body to build a slight carrot taper back to the front tie-in point.
Wrap the red Flashabou forward in touching turns to the front and tie it off.
Pull the clear micro tubing over the entire body and tie it down at the front for a flashy, durable shellback.
Tie in a small clump of sand Prism dubbing, fold it back, wrap over it, and trim to body length as a short collar.
Stack bleached yearling elk hair, measure it to the hook bend, and tie it in as a down-wing with tight thread-torque wraps; trim the butts at a wedge.
Tie in a grizzly hackle by the bare stem, dub a small peacock-black thorax, wrap the hackle forward through it, tie off, whip finish, and cement.
