  • Tail 1 Plume of Cream Marabou on the bottom and 1 plume of Natural Grizzly Marabou on top
  • Body UV tan Ice Dub
  • Hackle Grizzly Varient or Barred Dark Ginger is ideal
  • Rib Small gold UTC Ultra Wire
  • Wing 1 Plume of Natural Grizzly Marabou
  • Connection 19 Strand AFS Surflon Micro Ultra Wire 17 lb
  • Tail 1 Plume of Natural Grizzly Marabou
  • Hackle Grizzly Varient or Barred Dark Ginger is ideal but standard Grizzly hackle is just fine
  • Wing 1 Plume Natural Grizzly Marabou
  • Legs Rootbeer/Orange Tipped Hot Tipped Crazy Legs
  • Eyes Small Double Pupil Lead Eyes (Yellow)

How to tie it

  1. Build the rear section first: mount a trailing hook on an articulated shank and tie in a full marabou tail with flash. The rear section should be about one shank length of material.
  2. Connect the front hook to the rear shank with a wire loop or interlocking shanks. The connection should swing freely. This hinge is what creates the swimming action.
  3. On the front hook, build a body with dubbing brush or chenille, wrapping forward to the 60% mark.
  4. Add a collar of marabou or flared deer hair.
  5. Tie in dumbbell eyes on the underside or top depending on your desired orientation.
  6. Whip finish and cement the head generously.
