How to tie it
Start orange thread and lock a pair of coated fluorescent-orange dumbbell eyes to the top of the shank behind the eye with figure-eight and gathering wraps.
At the rear of the shank, tie in a length of barred orange/black sili legs left deliberately long so they extend well past the bend.
Tie in a webby olive saddle hackle (or a piece of schlappen) and palmer three to four wraps forward to about the hook point to form the tail collar; stroke back stray fibers and lock it down.
Tie in a second olive hackle to be used later, then tie in olive chenille at the same point.
Wrap the chenille forward with a slight gap between wraps to about halfway up the shank and secure it.
Palmer the reserved hackle forward, weaving and pulling it side to side so it settles into the grooves between the chenille wraps; tie off and trim.
Tie in a half-length sili leg across the top of the shank so the legs stand up when the fly rides hook-point up.
Re-tie a fresh olive hackle and chenille and repeat the grooved chenille-and-palmered-hackle body forward to just behind the dumbbell eyes; secure and trim.
Whip finish behind the eye and add a drop of cement.
