Tyer Recipe

• Hook Dry fly, 2XL, #8-12
• Thread Olive 6/0

Materials

• Body Olive or tan material (Dubbing)
• Palmer hackle Brown hackle (1 feather)
• Wing Natural case (Elk hair, in 2-3 stacked segments)
• Head Natural case (Trimmed elk hair butts)

How to tie it

1. Start thread and lay a base to the bend.
2. Dub a body about a third of the way up and tie in a segment of elk hair as an underwing.
3. Continue dubbing and stacking additional elk hair wing segments up the shank.
4. Palmer a brown hackle through the dubbed body.
5. Tie down a final elk hair wing and trim the butts to form a head.
6. Whip finish behind the eye.
