Lay a monofilament thread base on a Gamakatsu SC15 #4.
Take a sparse clump of gray SF blend (~20 fibers), taper it, fold it in half and tie it in about two shank lengths long; build an underbody by folding the butts back.
Fold 3-4 strands of mylar/flashabou over the thread and bind them back for an underbody, leaving space behind the eye for a bulky head.
Tie a ~2mm fettuccine foam strip on each side extending to about the hook bend, using light tension so the mono doesn't cut the foam; secure behind the eye, break off clean and even the lengths.
Strip the craft fur from the core of a wire-free synthetic brush and tie in the bare core; stroke the fibers back to form a sparse veil body with about two wraps, then tie off close.
Trim excess fibers from underneath to keep it sparse, whip finish and break the mono thread against your thumbnail.
Glue Fish Skull Living Eyes on each side with super glue, keeping them even and level so the fly swims true.
