Materials
- Goose or turkey biots Brown goose biots (2 for tail)
- Brown dubbing Brown dubbing (for body)
- Fine wire Copper wire (1 for rib)
- Thin skin or turkey Brown thin skin mottled (1 slip for wingcase)
- Partridge or hen Brown hen hackle (few fibers for legs)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and run thread to the bend.
- Tie in two brown biots splayed into a short forked tail, about half a shank long.
- Bind in a fine wire rib, then dub a slim brown abdomen forward to the 60% mark.
- Counter-rib the wire forward in 5-6 open turns for crisp segmentation and tie off.
- Tie in a wingcase slip, add a few soft partridge fibers as legs at the thorax, then dub a fuller thorax and pull the wingcase over and bind.
- Build a small head, whip finish, and cement.
