Mash the barb, drag the scud hook through the Black opaque glass beads until one catches, push it forward to the eye and clamp the hook in the vise. Plunger-style hackle pliers make handling a hook this small much easier.
Start the thread behind the bead, take a few wraps rearward and snip or break off the tag.
Take the smallest pinch of light olive Rabbit-fur dubbing and twist a noodle as thin as you can, barely more than colouring the thread.
Begin wrapping well down into the bend. After one full turn, pinch the thread and give the bobbin a hard clockwise spin; this cords the thread and twists the dubbing into a rope, and the corded rope wraps up into a slender, faintly segmented body.
Wrap forward to the bead, take a few extra thread turns, spin the bobbin counterclockwise to uncord the thread, then a four or five turn whip finish; seat it and snip the thread.
Snip any truly wild hairs close, particularly on the back, but leave the underside alone so the fibers read as legs and gills.
