Classic Recipe
- Hook Streamer, 3x long, 6-10
- Thread Black 6/0
Materials
- Body Flat silver tinsel (wrapped)
- Rib Oval silver tinsel (4 inches)
- Wing Yellow and red bucktail (layered)
How to tie it
- Mount hook, wrap a smooth flat silver tinsel body to the 75% mark, then rib it with oval tinsel in 4-5 turns.
- Tie in a sparse layer of yellow bucktail, tips just past the bend.
- Tie in an equally sparse layer of red bucktail over it.
- Top with a final sparse layer of yellow, yellow, red, yellow, each layer visible.
- Build a neat lacquered head, whip finish.
Substitutions
- Body instead of Flat silver tinsel: Silver Diamond Braid — More durable; Silver Mylar tubing — Slide over shank, fast
- Wing instead of Yellow and red bucktail: Yellow and red EP Fibers — Synthetic, dries faster; Yellow and red craft fur — Softer movement
