Lead wire (taper/weight) Natural lead wire (.020, ~10 wraps)
Pine squirrel zonker, micro (tail) Tan rabbit strip (1 strip)
Arizona Semi Seal (body & collar, in dubbing loop) Canadian brown (as needed)
Micro barred grizzly legs Root beer hackle (2 per side)
How to tie it
Slide the 3.8mm slotted tungsten bead onto the size 8 jig hook and secure it in the vise; wrap about 10 turns of.020 lead behind the bead and helicopter off to build taper.
Start the fluorescent fire orange thread behind the lead and cover the wraps.
Tie in a micro tan pine squirrel zonker strip for the tail, about a shank-length long.
Form a dubbing loop, wax it, insert Canadian brown Arizona Semi Seal, spin it into a brush, wrap a short section forward, and brush it out.
Tie in two micro barred grizzly (root beer) legs on each side.
Form a second Semi Seal dubbing loop, spin it, wrap a collar in front of the legs, brush it back, and pull the legs rearward.
Take a couple of locking wraps, whip finish, and add a drop of super glue.
