Foam indicator patch Orange or pink foam indicator patch (1 small square)
How to tie it
Bind a two-tone foam strip (tan under, black over) along the shank, segmenting with 2-3 thread wraps to the bend and leaving a short tag over the bend.
Dub a thin body forward over the rear half to the 50% mark, half the dubbing you think.
Fold the foam forward over the body and bind at 50%, then again at 70% to form two body segments; leave the front for the head.
Tie a sparse elk-hair underwing over the body, tips to the rear one shank long, with a couple strands of pearl flash.
Figure-8 a pair of rubber legs on each side at the two tie-down points, angled back.
Fold the remaining foam forward as a head/wing pad, bind behind the eye, top it with a bright foam square for visibility, then whip finish under the head and cement.
