Start the UTC Light Olive thread behind the eye, snip the tag, and lay a base down to the bend and back up.
Tie in a few fibres of UTC Antron Brown on top of the shank at the front and bind them back to the bend. Do not snip the butt yet: bind it forward again to build the taper, then snip and keep the offcut for the wings.
Tie in UTC Ultra Wire Olive SM on the near side, bind it flat back to the bend, then wrap forward evening out the taper. Leave room at the eye.
Wrap the wire forward in even, open segmenting turns. Capture it with a couple of wraps in front and behind, then helicopter it off.
Cut a very thin sliver of Hareline Thin Foam 2mm Tan and tie it in at the front of the body with a wrap or two going back.
Tie in a slightly larger bunch of UTC Antron Brown on top, bind it back to the foam, and snip the front tag. These become the sprouting wings.
Spin a thin noodle of Superfine Mahogany Brown and dub an even thorax back to the foam and forward again, leaving room at the eye.
Fold the antron back over the thorax and split it evenly, one bunch to each side, binding it back so the two sides sit even.
Fold the foam forward over the thorax, pull it snug and make one deliberate wrap to pinch it, then two or three more on top.
Flip the hook over (down eye), take one wrap in front and a couple more, then whip finish and snip the thread.
Trim the tail antron at an angle for a ragged taper, snip the wings to the length of the thorax, and cut the foam even just ahead of the eye.
