How to tie it
Secure the TMC 2488 in the vise and start black thread a couple of eye-lengths behind the eye.
Tie in small silver wire along the near side and wrap back over it to about halfway down the bend, then forward again to the start, laying a smooth level thread body.
Spiral-wrap the silver wire forward over the body for segmentation; tie it off with a couple of turns and helicopter off.
Tie in a strip of tan 2mm foam (about 1mm wide) at the front with the stub facing forward over the eye, then trim and bind down the rear end.
Flatten and split the thread, insert a clump of brown SLF dubbing into the split, and spin it into a shaggy noodle.
Wrap the dubbing behind the foam and a couple of turns in front to form the thorax.
Whip finish behind the eye, trim the foam post short, and brush the dubbing back to make it shaggy.
