Classic Recipe
- Hook 3x streamer, 2-8
- Thread Gray 6/0
Materials
- Tail Red hackle fibers (short)
- Body Silver tinsel chenille (full)
- Wing White or gray marabou (full plume)
- Overwing Peacock herl (4-6 strands)
- Head/collar Spun deer hair, clipped (muddler style)
How to tie it
- Mount the 3x streamer hook and lay a thread base to the bend.
- Tie in a short bunch of red hackle fibres as a tail.
- Wrap a full silver tinsel chenille body forward, stopping about one-third behind the eye to leave room for the head.
- Tie in a full marabou plume as the wing over the top, extending to the end of the tail, then top it with 4-6 strands of peacock herl.
- Spin a bundle of deer hair in front of the wing, pack it back tight, and add a second bundle; the flared butts form the collar.
- Trim the spun deer hair to a rounded muddler head, leaving a swept-back collar.
- Whip finish behind the eye and cement.
