Materials
Nymph skin (body) Caddis green (Kiley's or Hemingway)
Ice Dub (thorax) Peacock black ice dub
Brass bead Silver bead (sized to hook)
Hungarian partridge (soft hackle)
How to tie it
Start UTC 70 black thread mid-shank and wrap back to lock it, building a smooth, slightly tapered underbody down to the bend.
Trim a tie-in point on a strand of caddis-green nymph skin and secure it against the shank, wrapping back over it down around the bend and keeping it flat so it doesn't curl; then bring the thread forward again, building a little bulk and taper.
Half-hitch a bead's-width behind the eye to reserve room for the bead. Grip the nymph skin, spin/twist it tightly so it bites onto itself, and wrap it forward in touching wraps to the reserved point, keeping the first wrap snug. Secure with locking wraps and trim.
Wax the thread and dub a small thin noodle of peacock-black Ice Dub. Wrap a short thorax/transition that the bead will seat against; leave two or three eye-widths in front for the bead and hackle.
Slide the silver brass bead on and jam it back against the thorax (the bead goes on after the body on this up-eye hook). Wrap in front of and behind the bead to lock it so it can't spin.
Select an appropriately sized partridge feather, strip the lower fibers, tie it in in front of the bead and take a turn or two to form a soft-hackle collar swept back; secure and trim the stem.
Build a small thread head, whip finish and cement.
