Tyer Recipe
Hook Ahrex NS115 Deep Streamer (or similar heavy streamer hook), 2-8
Thread White Any strong tying thread (140 denier)
Materials
Marabou (tail) Black marabou (1 generous plume tip)
Woolly Sparkle Dub Black'n'Silver and Midnight Purple (Enough to fill a full-length dubbing loop)
Bead chain eyes, medium Silver bead chain eyes medium (1 pair)
How to tie it
Mount the streamer hook and start white thread behind the eye. Tie in medium silver bead chain eyes about two eye lengths back with tight figure-eight wraps, then lock them with cross wraps under the shank.
Run the thread back to the bend in a smooth base.
Tie in a black marabou tail about one and a half shank lengths long. Bind the butts forward along the shank and trim so the underbody stays level.
Form a long dubbing loop at the base of the tail and take the thread forward to just behind the eyes.
Lay Woolly Sparkle Dub into the open loop in a sparse, even band with the fibers running across it, mixing the Black'n'Silver and Midnight Purple to taste. Spin the loop into a dubbing brush.
Wrap the brush forward in touching turns, stroking the fibers rearward after every turn so nothing gets trapped, up to the bead chain eyes.
Take a turn or two of the brush around and through the eyes to fill the head area, then tie off and trim the loop.
Sweep all the fibers back, build a small tidy head in front of the eyes, whip finish and cement.
