How to tie it
Start UTC 210 Black thread on the Fish Skull Senyos Articulated Shank and wrap back. Tie in the Hareline Brass Eyes Medium Gold with figure-8 wraps, checking they sit straight, then add a dab of super glue and continue the figure-8s until they are secure.
Wrap back to the rear of the shank and bind in a pre-cut length of 30 lb Fireline as the loop that will carry the hook.
Tie in a small bunch of Flashabou June Bug at the rear; just a little, nothing too long.
Pre-cut a Hareline Rabbit Strip Black and punch two holes in it. Feed the Fireline loop up through the first hole from underneath, over the top, and back down through the second hole. Give yourself big enough holes or this becomes the slowest part of the fly.
Keep the flash swept back, pull the rabbit strip forward over the top, bring the thread up and bind the strip down behind the eyes.
Cut a decent clump of Pro Sportfishers American Opossum Hot Cyan Blue, strip out the underfur, even the tips (a little water keeps it clumped) and tie it in on the underside as the throat.
Strip the fluff from a Fish Hunter Guinnea Hackle Royal Blue and tie it in with a couple of loose wraps to position it, then tight wraps. Fold the fibers back and wrap the feather, stroking the fibers rearward as you wrap away from yourself. Tie off and pull the fibers down.
Dub Hareline STS Trilobal Dub Black onto the thread, wrap it forward and figure-8 it around the eyes, adding more as needed to build the head.
