How to tie it
Start 14/0 black thread at mid-shank and lay a smooth thread base back to the bend.
Stack a fairly heavy clump of moose body hair, measure it about a shank length long, and tie it in at the bend on top of the shank for a solid chunky tail; wrap forward over the butts to just short of the starting point and trim so the underbody is even.
Put a small drop of superglue on the thread base (foam bodies tend to spin). Cut strips of black and chartreuse 1mm razor foam about as wide as the hook gap. Tie the black strip in first at the front of the butt ends, take a soft centered turn so it buckles around the shank, then spiral-wrap back over it to the base of the tail, keeping it centered on top and leaving no thread showing behind the tail.
Cross the thread forward, tie the chartreuse strip on top the same way, and spiral-wrap back to the tail; cross-hatch the thread back and forth to compress and smooth the tie-down.
Tie in a length of medium olive holographic tinsel at the front of the underbody, wrap it back to the base of the tail and forward again for a double layer, and tie off, cleaning up the front edge.
Bring the thread near the eye. Fold the black foam forward to form the rear body bump and tie it down; add a set of white round rubber legs at that tie-down point with X-wraps. Fold the chartreuse foam forward over the top to form the front segment and tie it down, adding a second set of rubber legs.
For the wing, tie a doubled length of white macrame yarn upright over the front segment as a post; trim to length.
Tie in a cree or grizzly hackle at the base of the wing, take several wraps around the post/thorax, tie off, whip finish, and cement the head.
