- Hook 2XL-3XL nymph/streamer hook, 6-10
- Thread Black 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
- Bead Gold bead (1, sized to hook)
- Marabou (tail) Black marabou (1 plume)
- Sparkle chenille (body) Black chenille (1 length)
- Sparkle chenille (over-body) Peacock ice dub (1 length)
How to tie it
- Slide a gold bead to the eye and start thread behind it, running a base to the bend.
- Tie in a black marabou tail about one shank length long, sweeping it slim.
- Bind in one strand of black sparkle chenille and one strand of peacock sparkle chenille at the tail.
- Wrap the black chenille forward in touching turns to just behind the bead and tie off to build the base body.
- Counter-wrap or spiral the peacock chenille forward over the black in 5-6 open turns so it shimmers through, then tie off behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
