  • Thread Black 6/0 (140 denier)

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (1, sized to hook)
  • Marabou (tail) Black marabou (1 plume)

  • Sparkle chenille (over-body) Peacock ice dub (1 length)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a gold bead to the eye and start thread behind it, running a base to the bend.
  2. Tie in a black marabou tail about one shank length long, sweeping it slim.
  3. Bind in one strand of black sparkle chenille and one strand of peacock sparkle chenille at the tail.
  4. Wrap the black chenille forward in touching turns to just behind the bead and tie off to build the base body.
  5. Counter-wrap or spiral the peacock chenille forward over the black in 5-6 open turns so it shimmers through, then tie off behind the bead.
  6. Whip finish behind the bead and add a drop of cement.
