Tyer Recipe
Hook 1.5 inch, 3/32 inch diameter aluminium tube sleeved with 3/16 inch heat shrink, front section of tube left bare, Tube fly. Fish it on whatever small single or double you like

Materials
Schlappen (tail) Brown saddle hackle (1 generous bunch)
Uni French tinsel, medium (rib) Gold oval tinsel (1 length)
Uni yarn (body) White poly yarn (1 length)
Bucktail (wing, layered) Yellow, orange and brown bucktail (1 sparse bunch of each)
How to tie it
Sleeve a 1.5 inch aluminium tube with 3/16 inch heat shrink, leaving the front portion of the tube bare, and mount it in the vise. The heat shrink acts as built-in junction tubing so the tail is not kicked up later.
Start black thread where the heat shrink begins and run it straight back to the rear of the tube.
Tie in a generous bunch of brown schlappen as the tail. Be generous, but do not shove it back against the vise or you will kink it.
Tie in the gold tinsel rib on top and bind it back to the tail, then tie in the white Uni yarn at the same point.
Wrap the yarn from the rear forward in touching turns, covering every bit of black thread. If any shows, back up and cover it. When you reach the step where the heat shrink meets the bare tube, use the yarn to build a smooth ramp instead of a notch. Tie off.
Rib with the gold tinsel: one turn at the very back, taking care not to crush the tail, then open even spirals forward and up over the ramp. Tie off and pull the tag up on top.
Stack a sparse bunch of yellow bucktail (go easy, three colors stack up fast) and pull out the short and stray fibers. Set it just past the thread with a pinch loop, keep it strictly on top, and bind it down. Fill the gap where the plastic meets the metal with soft wraps first so you do not cut your thread later.
Take the thread back with soft wraps and add the orange bucktail the same way over the yellow. Leave the butts long at first so you can slide and adjust it, checking that yellow shows evenly on both sides, then bind it tight and trim.
Add the brown bucktail as the top layer, slightly heavier if you like, checking that a little orange shows on both sides. Soft wraps at the rear, tight wraps forward, then trim the butts.
Build and taper the head, whip finish, then coat with UV glue followed by a top coat.
