  • Hook 1XL-2XL nymph hook, 12-16
  • Thread Brown 8/0

Materials

  • Tail biots Brown goose biots (2, split)
  • Abdomen dubbing Brown dubbing (thin)
  • Wingcase Brown turkey/thin skin (1 slip)
  • Thorax dubbing Brown, slightly darker (pinch)
  • Rib Copper wire (1 strand)

How to tie it

  1. Tie in two brown biots as a split tail at the bend, then tie in the copper wire.
  2. Dub a slim brown abdomen forward over the rear two-thirds and rib it with the copper wire.
  3. Tie in the wingcase material, then dub a slightly fuller thorax.
  4. Pull the wingcase forward over the thorax and tie down, picking out a few fibers for legs.
  5. Build a head and whip finish.
