- Hook TMC 2488H (wide-gape scud/emerger), 18
- Thread Olive Nano Silk 18/0
Materials
- Slotted tungsten bead Olive mottled slotted tungsten bead (5/64)
- Hungarian partridge Olive dyed hungarian partridge (short tail)
- Ultra Wire (small) Copper wire (1 (rib))
- Bug foam (2mm) White thin fly foam (1 strip (wing case/back))
- Ice Dub (hare's ear) Peacock ice dub (body and thorax)
How to tie it
- Slide a 5/64 olive mottled tungsten bead onto a #18 TMC 2488H, seat it behind the eye, start olive Nano Silk behind the bead, and wrap to the bend.
- Tie in a short tail of olive-dyed partridge fibers at the bend.
- Tie in a length of small copper wire at the bend.
- Tie in a strip of 2mm white foam at the bend to be pulled forward later.
- Dub a slim body of peacock Ice Dub forward to just behind the bead.
- Spiral the copper wire forward as a rib and tie it off, then helicopter it to break.
- Pull the white foam over the top as a wing case/back, tie it down behind the bead, and trim the tag.
- Dub a small thorax collar of Ice Dub behind the bead, whip finish, and cement.
