Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard wet/dry sedge hook, 10-14
- Thread Tan / primrose 8/0
Materials
- Body Light ginger/cinnamon seal's fur or dubbing (tapered)
- Rib Fine gold wire (4-5 turns)
- Body hackle Ginger cock, palmered (along body)
- Wing Light landrail or pale mottled hen, tent-style (slips)
- Front hackle Ginger cock (2-3 turns)
How to tie it
- Tie in the gold rib and a ginger cock hackle by its tip at the bend.
- Dub a tapered body of light ginger or cinnamon dubbing forward toward the eye.
- Palmer the ginger hackle forward and secure it with the counter-wound gold rib.
- Set a low tent-style wing of pale mottled hen or landrail over the body.
- Wind two or three turns of a ginger front hackle, form a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
