Catskill Dressing

• Hook Standard dry fly, 10-18
• Thread White 6/0-8/0

Materials

• Wings Wood duck flank (upright and divided)
• Tail Medium blue dun hackle fibers (one shank length)
• Body Red fox belly fur (pinkish, dubbed slim)
• Hackle Medium blue dun hackle (3-4 turns)

How to tie it

1. Mount hook, start white thread, and set wood duck flank wings upright and divided at the 70% mark.
2. Tie in a medium blue dun tail one shank length long at the bend.
3. Dub a slim, pinkish body of red fox belly fur forward to the wings. Use half the dubbing you think you need.
4. Wind medium blue dun hackle, 2 turns behind and 2 in front of the wings.
5. Whip finish a neat head.
