Place a 3x-long streamer hook with a brass conehead and a few wraps of lead wire behind it in the vise; start the thread behind the wire and lock the wire and cone in place with a small thread dam.
Prepare an olive-brown marabou blood-quill feather, measure about 1.5 shank-lengths for the tail, and tie it in with locking wraps; use the marabou butt to even the body taper and trim it off at the lead.
Tie in 3-4 strands of copper Flashabou on top, the same length as the tail, doubling it over and securing.
Tie in olive Krystal Flash on top, the same length, doubling it over; save the excess for the front.
Tie in a strand of red sparkle diamond braid at the side, and tie in the large polymer chenille (trimmed to about two-thirds length) at the rear; set both aside in a material clip.
Wrap the red diamond braid forward to cover the shank and thread base, then tie it off and trim.
Palmer the polymer chenille forward with open wraps to the front, sweeping the fibers back each turn; tie it off and trim.
Add a few longer strands of copper Flashabou along each side (near body length) as a lateral line, doubling over and securing.
Build a small thread head behind the cone, whip finish, and cement (the video cuts off after the lateral flash).
